DYING WISHES: Advance Health Directives
A State Appeals Court is deciding if Terri Schiavo will be allowed to die. The 40-year-old Florida woman has been in a vegetative state for the past 14 years. Florida Governor Jeb Bush is appealing a lower court ruling that would allow the husband the right to let his wife die by removing the feeding tube that has kept her alive.

While the Schiavo case is receiving widespread coverage, thousands of other families face the same life or death decision every day. This Video News Release, sponsored by the American Bar Association, looks at how families can avoid the these disputes over when a loved one should be allowed to die. This story looks at the importance of advance planning through one woman who has had to face death twice.
