Charity Begins at Home: New Deductions for Taxpayers
 
Charities receive up to half of their donations during the holiday season. If you’re thinking about contributing to charity, or have already done so and plan to deduct the donations on your 2005 tax return, it helps to know about some new tax rules – benefits – particularly for those who have donated their time, efforts and money to hurricane relief.

The American Bar Association is offering tips at www.TaxTips4U.org to make sure that taxpayers know about the deductions and tax benefits available to them, especially if they plan to make donations in the last few weeks of the year.
